10 Books that are Perfect for your Next Holiday

This is a list of 10 fiction books that I loved reading when I was on an actual holiday or choosing to read instead of TV. A healthy choice in my humble opinion.

All books are linked to The Strand, my favorite independent books store in NYC. If you’re ever in the city it is a must visit. The top floor has an amazing kids area too!

Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I loved this book because of the character development. Also, hearing a badass woman’s story of her life was nothing short from inspiring…even though it is totally made up.

It Ends With Us

I loved this book for the lesson it teaches. My dad always talks about being the transitional generation. It Ends with Us is such a good reminder of this life lesson that is very important.

Where the Crawdads Sing

This is just an overall AMAZING book. I don’t have enough good things to say about. It’s a must read.

My Not So Perfect Life

I’ve read all of Sophie Kinsella’s books. They are one of my guilty pleasure reads and are quite literally the perfect holiday read.

The Last Thing He Told Me

I loved this book for the suspense! It wasn’t scary, just an exciting page turner. The Last Thing He Told Me will make you want to put your phone down and read.

Malibu Rising

I loved this book and I love the author, Taylor Jenkins Reid. Not only do I love Malibu, so the book had me at the title, but it was a fun read with characters you felt like you could be friends with.

City of Girls

My sister and I read this book at the same time. It’s about girls living life in New York City. What could be more fun?!

The Immortalists

This book was written so well and explains the stories of four siblings who all grew up under the same roof, but have very different lives as adults.

A Man Called Ove

Hands down one of my all time favorite books. It starts a little slow, but then you will fall in love with the characters. Definitely one of those books where I was laughing and crying.

The Vacationers

I just finished this book last month. It’s an easy read and will probably make you want to take a vacation, but maybe not with your family…

If you’re in need of an escape, pick up a book and start reading. And I don’t mean Goodnight Moon. Trust me you have time. Enjoy mama!
